Well, its that time of the year again. We are currently waiting for our new Evinrude engines to be installed on the tournament boat. Evinrude came out with a new engine in 2013, 135 HO's. We were the first ones with this new engine fishing the SKA Trail and our expectations were high for these new engines. They are based off the 150 and will be a V-6 engine. We have run these engines for the last two years without one issue. Our sponsoring Dealer, Mark's Marine in Greenville, NC installs and rigs our engines.
We have been very fortunate over the last several years and have some very good sponsors and all of them will be back with us for 2015. Evinrude of course is our title sponsor along with several associate sponsors listed on the home page. We would like to take this time to thank ALL of them for what they do for us. Without them we could not compete at the level we do.
We are also making some electronic upgrades to the boat, replacing the bait well pumps and normal maintenance getting ready for the 2015 season which starts in July. We have several events scheduled prior to the season starting and the main one is the Military Appreciation day event. During this event we take troops from near by Military Bases such as Camp Lej, Cherry Point, etc. Last year we had one from the Coast Guard and one from the Army with us and they had a GREAT time. We caught a load of Dolphin. This was one of the most enjoyable times I have had on the water. The seas were a little bumpy that morning but became flat around 10:am.
We will start targeting Kings in preperation for the Tournament season in late June getting a pattern put together of where we will start the year. Up until then we will fun fish for Dolphin, Wahoo and Grouper.
