We strive to be the best in our Class and Divisions. The Team which consist of Bill Walston, Vic Gulley and myself, David Lucas, put forth a lot of effort and time to meet these goals. We fish in Division one on the SKA Trail with help from the following sponsors. Without them, this would not be possible.
This is our fourth year on the Evinrude Prostaff Team and we are proud to be associated with such a fine manufacturer. In our opinion they manufacture the best outboard on the water. When it comes to using Rigs, we use only the best and that is Mr Tigger Tackle. They have all the Rigs we we need to catch that Tournament winning SMOKER including Ribbon Fish Rigs.
On our Rigs we have been using Eagle Claw Lazer sharp hooks for over twenty years. These Hooks are welded, not open end Hooks so you don't have to worry about them pulling open. The 4 X-strong Hooks are plenty strong to handle your catch. We like the Bronze color Hooks because they blend in on our Bait. Eagle Claw also makes a silver hook we use on our Ribbon Fish Rigs. Ocean Waves Sunglasses help us to see the fish in the baits so we are a step ahead of him when he strikes. These glasses also allow us to see them deeper in the water column so we are able to drive the gaff home earlier so we are less apt to loose a fish.
South Chatham Tackle custom builds the Gaffs we use to bring the prize winning fish onboard. These Gaffs are custom built and only the best material is used in the production of these tools. They also build line spoolers that we use to spool all of our reels. When you have one of those long days on the water and the live bait has about had it, just tie on one of their Pirate plugs with a Dead bait such as Bally-hoo, Cigar Minnow, Ribbon Fish etc, and hold on for that big strike.
The reel that gets that fish to the boat is made by Omoto, distributed by Pro Challenger located in Royal Palm Beach, FL. Alan Chui is a great guy to deal with, and being a avid fisherman himself, he knows a quality reel when he sees it. These reels are super strong and with a 6.2 to 1 retrieve, you don't have to worry about him charging back to the boat and you not being able to keep up with him.
When you are running back to the scales with the throttles in the dash you need to be sure you have an oil lubricating your engines that will hold up under the most extreme conditions of tournament fishing. That is why we rely on Amsoil 100% synthetic marine oil. Whether you are running two strokes or four strokes, Amsoil has a oil that is supurb to any other. No smoke, lowers operating tempertures, no fouled plugs. Amsoil also has lower gearcase oil, bearing grease for the trailer and oil for the tow vehicle. All of these oil products, I have found to be second to none.
When it comes to catching bait, the number one net we have found to get the job done in the ocean, sound or waterway is a Calusa. Throw and go. Once you throw one of these nets, you will not throw another. Sinks fast, opens easy and the construction of this net is above all others.
